-Firefox Tweaks-From surfing around various forums and support sites, I've collected a few adjustments to Firefox's settings that speed up the page request time immensely. I'm not trying to take credit for finding out this information, I have just seen several requests on forums and from friends lately about how to make Firefox faster, so I thought I would put it all in an easy-to-find and follow guide. You might not all get the same results, but I bet this will speed it up on a lot of systems. In the address bar, type in about:config. This brings up a crazy looking page. Scroll down (type N to get there faster) and right-click on each line to change the settings as follows: network.http.max-connections - 40 network.http.max-connections-per-server - 20 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server - 20 network.http.pipelining - true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests - 32 network.http.proxy.pipelining - true Restart Firefox and check out a graphics intensive page like DeviantArt. It should load a lot faster. If you don't have Firefox, you should. Download it here. |
